"We were alone in the room. The lights were dim as it was just about to become evening. I touched his face, stroked my thumb over his cheek, played with his hair. I didn't know what this feeling inside of me meant. Was he just plain adorable, or did it mean more? He was afraid of the thunder and I became more and more confused as I held and sang to him to calm him down. He fell asleep and once again grasped my heart with his petite fingers as he smiled while in deep slumber. These feelings told me to act on them as I brought him to my bed. I tucked him in and watched him from the door way. I wanted to leave but I wasn't able to. Inside my chest my heart was pounding as if it wanted to be released from my ribcage. I had to know what these feelings inside me meant. I brought myself close and kissed his lips. His child-like, untainted lips. What am I doing? This isn't right... right? Why doesn't it feel like that...?"
